Practical tips before your run
Nature and trail conditions can change with the season and the weather. After rain, the paths may be wet and slippery, while roots and loose stones require extra attention on the smaller forest trails.
Choose footwear that suits the terrain, and bring water for longer runs.
Please also show consideration for others you meet along the way. The forests and hills are used by walkers, cyclists, horse riders and other nature lovers.
Rules for running in nature
In state-owned forests, you are allowed to access the forest at all hours. As a general rule, you may also move beyond roads and paths in areas that are not fenced off.
Access may be restricted at certain times, for example during hunting or intensive forestry work. Always follow the signs in the area.
Running in private forests
In private forests, you may run on forest roads and paths. Access is allowed from 6:00 in the morning until sunset.
Always remember to show consideration for nature, landowners and other visitors, so the area remains a good experience for those who come after you.
