About RebildPorten

RebildPorten is Rebild’s tourist information and interpretation centre – and a natural starting point for experiences in Rebild Bakker, Rold Skov and the rest of Rebild Municipality.

Here, you can find inspiration for your visit, maps and practical information, as well as help choosing the experiences that suit you. Whether you come to hike, cycle, go mountain biking, explore the area’s nature and history, or simply find a good place to eat or stay, we are here to help you on your way.

We help you experience Rebild

Rebild offers much more than just one kind of nature experience. Here, you will find heather-covered hills, some of Denmark’s largest forest areas, clear forest lakes, natural springs, river valleys and an extensive network of routes and trails.

At RebildPorten, you can get inspiration and guidance on, among other things:

Learn more about the nature and the area

RebildPorten is also a place where you can learn more about the landscape you are about to explore.

In our exhibition, we present the nature, history and life in and around Rebild Bakker and Rold Skov. Here, you can discover the area’s distinctive landscape, wildlife and plant life, natural springs, and stories from the past.

The exhibition is designed to inspire you to head out and experience the area for yourself. You can therefore use RebildPorten both to plan your visit in advance and as your first stop when you arrive.

Local knowledge and personal guidance

An important part of RebildPorten is the personal tourist information service. We keep up to date with what is happening in the area and work closely with local attractions, accommodation providers, restaurants, activity providers, guides and other local businesses and organisations.

This means we can help you discover both the well-known highlights and the smaller tips that can be harder to find on your own.

You are always welcome to stop by, ask questions, pick up a map for your trip or simply find inspiration for what to experience next.

A gateway to Rold Skov and Rebild Bakker

RebildPorten itself is inspired by Rold Skov. The building’s distinctive timber structure is designed as a stylised forest of trunks and branches and was built using wood from the local area.

Construction began on 9 August 2012, when the name RebildPorten – Rold Skov · Rebild Bakker was also officially announced.

Outside, you will find a large terrace where you can take a break, enjoy a packed lunch or plan the next part of your visit.
