Støvring Dog Forest by Juelstrup Lake
Bring your dog for a walk in Støvring Dog Forest by Juelstrup Lake – a green outdoor space close to Støvring where dogs can run freely off the lead, as long as they are under control.
The dog forest is located between the restored Juelstrup Lake and the E45 motorway. Here, you and your dog have plenty of space for a refreshing walk in a varied area with paths, clearings, grassland and young woodland.
A dog forest with plenty of space
Støvring Dog Forest covers approximately 10 hectares and has around 5 km of paths within the fenced area. The area is enclosed, allowing your dog to move more freely, while you are still responsible for keeping it under control and being able to call it back.
The forest is planted with both deciduous and coniferous trees. Along the way, you will find open areas, small clearings and woodland edges with birch, cherry trees, flowering shrubs and fruit-bearing plants.
The “Sky Dog”
One of the special features of the dog forest is the “Sky Dog”. Part of the forest has been planted in the outline of the well-known dog pictogram used by the Danish Nature Agency to mark dog forests – only on a much larger scale.
The Sky Dog is 10,000 times larger than the small signs that mark the entrance to the Danish Nature Agency’s dog forests. This makes the dog forest by Juelstrup Lake a slightly different nature experience, where the idea of a dog forest has quite literally been shaped into the landscape.
Part of the nature around Juelstrup Lake
The dog forest is part of the area around Juelstrup Lake, which has been restored after being drained in the 1920s. Today, the lake and the surrounding landscape form a green and blue breathing space close to Støvring – with paths, birdlife and several opportunities for outdoor recreation.
You can easily combine your visit to the dog forest with a walk by the lake. Please remember that dogs must be kept on a lead outside the dog forest.
Practical information
There is approximately 300 metres from the car park to the entrance to the dog forest. Please keep your dog on a lead until you reach the fenced area.
At the entrance, you will find information on how you and your dog can enjoy the area while showing consideration for other dogs and visitors.
Remember on your visit
Your dog may run freely in the dog forest, but only if you have full control over it. Call your dog back when meeting others, keep it within sight and show consideration for both people and animals.
Støvring Dog Forest is an ideal place for dog owners who want a nature-based walk with space for movement, sniffing and good experiences together with their dog.
