Lars Kjær’s House

At the foot of Rebild Bakker lies Lars Kjær’s House – a small thatched house rich in local history. This was once the home of the poacher Lars Kjær and his wife Marie, who was known as a fortune-teller.

A glimpse of life in the past

The house is furnished as it was when Lars and Marie lived there. It gives you an impression of simple everyday life in Rebild Bakker and tells the story of people who lived close to nature.

Today, Lars Kjær’s House is a closed museum, but you can still look in through the windows and sense the atmosphere of the small house.

Experience the story of Lars and Marie

It is possible to arrange a visit to Lars Kjær’s House. Here, you can meet Lars Kjær and his wife Marie in a living-history experience, where Lars shares stories from his life as a poacher while Marie reads the tea leaves. During the visit, a glass of Lars Kjær’s Bjesk is served.

The experience lasts approximately 30 minutes and can be arranged for up to 30 people.

Visits can be arranged by contacting Rold StorKro.
