Nature playgrounds
Do the children need to move around and get some fresh air? In Rebild, there is plenty of space for play, imagination and small adventures in nature.
At Røverknolden Nature Playground, children can explore among giant spiders, musical ladybirds and fun play equipment at the edge of the forest. There is also a fire pit, so you can bring lunch, light a fire and perhaps bake twist bread together.
Once their energy has been used, the forest is a lovely place for a quiet moment, a food break or a good robber’s tale.
Close to RebildPorten, you will also find a playground by the entrance to Rebild Bakker. Here, the youngest children can play, while older children can explore the paths in the hills. Take a walk up and down through the landscape and see if you can keep up as the children rush along between hills, trees and small paths.

Troldeskoven
Remember to visit Troldeskoven when you are in Rebild. Here, you will find some of the oldest beech trees in Rold Skov, with the oldest trees more than 300 years old.
The twisted beeches have many trunks and imaginative shapes that almost make the trees look like trolls. In some places, the trunks have grown together to form so-called eye trees. According to old superstition, crawling through an eye tree could help prevent rickets.
In Troldeskoven, you can also visit the forest tower Høje Odde. Those who are feeling brave can climb up and enjoy the view across Rebild Bakker.
If you would like to get even more out of your visit, you can book a guide for the trip. The guides know the area well and can share fun, fascinating and factual stories – and perhaps a tall tale or two.
