Springkilden in Rold Vesterskov

Springkilden is located in Rold Vesterskov at the bottom of Lindenborg Ådal. The walk to the spring takes you through the forest and down into the river valley, where the sound of running water guides you the last part of the way.

To find Springkilden, drive through Rold Skov on route 180 and park in the car park on the west side of the road by Tveden. Tveden is the large cultivated area in the middle of the forest.

From the car park, follow the gravel road west. After just a few metres, the road divides – keep right here. After about 300 metres, you reach the edge of the forest. Continue straight ahead along the gravel road and down through the landscape until you reach the bottom of Lindenborg Ådal.

Once there, stop for a moment and listen. Follow the sound of the water, and you will soon spot Springkilden on the right-hand side of the road.

Springkilden is an artesian well. This means that natural water pressure from underground pushes the water up through a thick pipe driven into the ground.

In winter, Springkilden can be a particularly beautiful sight. When the frost is severe, the splashing water freezes around the spring, and the spring area is covered in a glazed layer of ice.

Please note that you are not allowed to continue beyond the spring. Rold Vesterskov is privately owned and belongs to Lindenborg Gods.
