Hiking Hærvejen – Øster Hornum to Skivum

On the stretch from Øster Hornum to Skivum, Hærvejen’s hiking route leads south of Aalborg through beautiful natural areas with fields, trees and small streams. The route is approx. 17 km long and offers a peaceful hiking experience through the open landscape of North Jutland.

The stretch between Aalborg and Viborg is mentioned in a pilgrim guide from the 12th century. According to the guide, the journey could be completed in two days. The area therefore has a special historical connection to pilgrimage, churches and stories from the Middle Ages.

Local pilgrimage enthusiasts also believe that a wooden figure in Øster Hornum Church may represent Saint Keld – a saint connected to Viborg Cathedral.
