Author and local historian Helge V. Qvistorff was widely known for his great love of Rold Skov and his deep knowledge of the area’s nature, culture and history.
Over the years, he appeared on Danish television and radio and wrote a wide range of books on nature and cultural history. His works include De Danske Skove, which was also shown as a TV series. In addition, he wrote books about springs, trees, legends, local stories and well-known people connected to the area.
One of his later books, Portræt af Ørnebjerg – almueliv og malerkunst, is about the artists’ colony near Rold Skov.
Helge V. Qvistorff passed away peacefully on Thursday, 8 April 2021, at the age of 82.
