Treasure hunt in Rebild National Park brought families together for a magical autumn break in nature

The treasure hunt was developed to engage both children and adults while inspiring more people to explore the countryside around Rebild. Participants followed a route where they tracked down clues, listened to stories, solved challenges and eventually found the troll’s missing treasure chest.
A new troll story made this year’s treasure hunt a magical success
The treasure hunt has been a recurring activity at RebildPorten over the past two years. This year’s edition, however, featured an entirely new story, with trolls and woodland birds at its heart. Participants were invited into a magical world that brought the experience of nature to life, particularly for children. The new story connected the entire route and gave participants a shared mission, making the experience more than just a walk in nature.
“I wanted to create an experience where the story encouraged children to explore nature. Combining play, imagination and movement often creates a special sense of engagement, and it has been wonderful to see how families have embraced the story and followed the clues through the countryside.”Amalie GrønIntern from UCN and the creator of this year’s treasure hunt
Strong support for outdoor experiences
The treasure hunt has become a regular part of the autumn break at RebildPorten, giving families a new way to experience the area in recent years. Both local families and visitors have welcomed the initiative, showing that nature remains an appealing setting for experiences across generations.
Now the treasure chest has been found, the troll has regained his magic, and the adventure is over for now. RebildPorten hopes to welcome both new and returning treasure hunters when the treasure hunt returns.
