On Wednesday 29 July 2026, PostNord Danmark Rundt comes through Rebild Municipality as Stage 1 sends the riders out on a 197.2 km route starting and finishing in Aalborg.
The stage moves through the North Jutland landscape and builds towards an exciting finale, where the route changes from wide roads to narrower and more winding sections. Shortly before Øster Hornum, the first hill sprint of the day awaits, giving spectators the chance to see the riders at a point where positioning, pace and strong legs can really make a difference.
Experience world-class cycling close to Rebild
PostNord Danmark Rundt is Denmark’s biggest stage race, bringing together Danish and international riders for several days of speed, tactics and cycling atmosphere across the country. On Stage 1, the Rebild area plays a part in the important finale of the race, as the peloton approaches Øster Hornum after more than 150 kilometres in the saddle.
This makes the area an ideal place to follow the stage if you want to see the riders up close and feel the atmosphere as they fight for hill points and positions before the final circuits in Aalborg.

Where the stage gets exciting
After crossing the Limfjord via Aggersund Bridge, the stage changes character. The road towards Øster Hornum becomes part of the more demanding finale, where the riders need to pay close attention to positioning, corners and pace.
The first hill sprint of the day is located shortly before Øster Hornum, and this is exactly where attacks or movement in the peloton may happen. For spectators, it offers the chance to experience more than just a fast-moving peloton passing by – there may be a fight for points, positions and initiative.
